The lights of the lamppost blind my eyes, they burn my eyes so I look down to the ground. I shouldn’t be out. I should have stayed in, on my bed, eating ice cream while scrolling on tumblr or reading my book. But no I’m here were I shouldn’t be
All I can hear is the heels on my shoes clicking on the concrete street floor. Know one is about, know one but me.
I wrap my coat closer to my body when I feel a cold gust of wind hitting me. I look up to find a group and men riding their motorbikes down the street. I gasp as one swerves and stops in front of me.
"You lost love?" He asks as I take a step back. I shake my head no.
"No I’m not lost."
"What’s your name?" He asks.
"Poppy." I lie. I am not one for lying but on the position I am in, I would lie to my hearts content.
"Don’t lie babe. I don’t like liars." He laughs and I here a few chuckles behind him.
"N-nelly." I answer, frightened he may hurt me.
"Well ‘Nelly’ you shouldn’t be out on your own this late." He speaks again. The accent is American and it doesn’t sound welcoming at all. All of the men have tight leather suits hugging their body to protect their body’s from the wind as they ride their bikes. Their faces are shielded by big helmets which have a window by the eyes so they can see.
I am stuck, frozen in my place. I don’t know what to do. I give the man a small smile before carrying on my walk back home, but a strong hand catches my wrist pulling me back.
"Where do you think you’re going sweetheart?" The same man asks. His ‘mates’ still are sitting on their bikes watching the whole scene in front of them but aren’t doing anything. There is about eight of them all covered in black and shielded so I can’t see their faces.
"H-home." I answer. I stare at the man as is grip tightens on my wrist. I notice he has one blue eye and one very, very dark eye.
"Well get on and we can go home." He pulls me towards the bike as I shake my head no.
"N-no thankyou."I say panicking.
"Come on love, I know you want to." I again shake my head no.
"Come Matt leave her alone, there are plenty more chicks that would consider going with you. Just leave her be." A husky, morbid voice says behind the man. I search for the voice but I am not sure were it comes from.
The man ‘Matt’ ; I think his name is, let’s go of my arm.
"You got lucky this time." I shiver at the thought of there being a ‘next time’. He drives off with his ‘gang’ following behind him accept one. I start to panic again and a soft whimper falls from my mouth.
"It’s alright love I won’t hurt you." It’s him, the one who told ‘Matt’ to let me go.
"How can I trust you?" I ask and I mentally slap myself when my voice is shaky and sounds weak.
"I don’t know, but I did just save your ass back there." He says referring to the event that had just happened.
"Thanks" I say politely. "Thanks for saving me, I don’t know what I would’ve done." He nods his head.
"Do you want a lift home?" He asks. I reject the offer, not wanting a biker boy knowing where I live.
"You don’t want that to happen again." He’s right, I don’t.
"I don’t evan know your name." I say.
"I don’t evan know where you live but I’m still offering to take you there." I roll my eyes, get on the bike and tell him my address. He nods knowing where it is.
"You might want to hold on tight love." He speaks, I ignore him and keep holding onto the back of the seat. But when he turns the roaring engine on I quickly wrap my arms around him, feasting my head on his back, trying the get as close as possible to him so I won’t fall off.
He chuckles. “Never been on a motorbike before?” He asks obviously knowingness the answer to his question.
"Never." I answer.
When we get to my house I thank him and climb of the bike. He helps me as I loose my balance and he chuckles when I nearly fall.
He waits on his bike as I open the door to my house. I turn back towards him as I here him speak.
"Goodbye Nelly." He says. I can tell he’s smiling by the tone of his voice.
"Goodbye-…" I say not sure of his name because he didn’t tell me.
"Harry, my names Harry." He speaks.
"Well goodbye Harry and thankyou."
"Your welcome love. I’ll see you soon" Before I can question him about the ‘I’ll see you soon.’ He turns on the engine and drives off. The sound of the roaring engine dies down as he gets into the distance.
I step into my house and shut the door locking it afterwards. I slide down the door, sitting on the floor and leaning on the door.
What just happened?
